It’s that time of year again, the time where we set out things we want to do better and things we like to change, in the hope that our next year will be better than the last. My resolutions nicely fit into four categories this year and I’ve decided to share ones that aren’t solely to do with the blog. So I hope you enjoy, also if you’re posting a similar post please link it below!
Blog wise this involves the planning of posts in my planners and sticking to a schedule. I’m hoping to have quite a few posts scheduled by the start of the new year, so I can completely be on top of blogging and uni work rather than become snowed under with work. With regards to university: everything will be planned to a t. All lectures and seminars on my calendar, my whiteboard planner up to date every week and last but not least post its with all my assignments available to look over at any point. I’m hoping to be finished with all remaining assignments from Semester 1 by now, fingers crossed I’ve managed so far…
- Getting Fit
Yes, it is a cliche, however I haven’t put getting fit on this list because I am unhappy with my weight. Instead, getting fit is on this list as I wish to be better at hockey. The plan is to continue my hockey up to 3x a week, go to the gym on at least 2 non hockey days and do mini ab and squat workouts as and when. I really want to get better at the sport but at the moment my fitness is holding me back. (Also abs wouldn’t be the worst things to work towards.)
I won’t lie; I’m not loving how I look at the moment. If you follow me on Instagram you might notice the lack of selfies there. My skin is playing up and I have no drive to get up and put on makeup. I used to love doing my makeup each morning, it gave me such confidence even if all I used was mascara. But due to a lack of motivation and persistent colds I just haven’t. I’m not saying I need makeup, I’m just saying it boosts my confidence, so the idea is to slowly start wearing makeup again.
- Sleeping Pattern
Let’s be honest if you know a teenager/student who has their sleeping pattern in order they’re doing something well. I on the other hand, barely even have a grasp on it. I will stay up late and wake up late leaving me with little motivation, nor any of the day left. I think I have been affected by SAD, the dark days have been getting me down rather a lot, I’ve even skipped lectures which is very unlike me. So my plan is, timetable dependant, get up around 10am everyday and go to bed before 12pm. This might seem easy but I have been sleeping 12 hours a night sometimes and waking up worse and unrefreshed. On top of these times, I also plan not to do any work after 9pm, because I have no attention span then and I’d much rather be tucked up in bed watching Netflix!
So, there are my resolutions for next year. Hopefully I will be able to stick to them, I don’t see why not as they’re not too difficult. Enjoy your new year, eat, drink and be merry!
