If you’re looking for the beauty gift to top all beauty gifts this Christmas you need to look no further than this post here. This gift is the creme de la creme of beauty gifts – and one that I treated myself to when I had £15 off the Charlotte Tilbury website last month. Let me introduce you to the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Archive.
The lip archive is a set of three now discontinued nude lipsticks and for a discount. Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks retail for a hefty £24, and this set is £60 which gives you a saving of £12 – so already it’s a good set.
The three shades are as follows: Confession, K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick, described as a ‘dusky, tawny nude, flecked with gold particles.’ It was apparently inspired by the fuller lips of Supermodels. I must say that Confession is my least favourite of the three, I tend to shy away from browny nudes, simply because they tend to wash me out. But with the right eye makeup I actually find this to be quite flattering.
My second favourite shade is Between The Sheets, a very popular shade from what I can tell and part of the Matte Revolution range. It’s a ‘vintage rose petal shade that encapsulates just-kissed, natural lips with a flush of colour.’ I love the trend of lightly coloured lips, (see Glossier sheer matte lipsticks.) Between the Sheets is honestly gorgeous, on any skintone, just check the website – it has swatches of the lipsticks on 10 different skintones.
Now the favourite, because of the name and shade is Miss Kensington, another from the Matte Revolution range. It’s an ‘English-rose pink inspired by the girls of the swinging ‘60s in Chelsea & Kensington and the pastel hues in Norman Parkinson’s pictures.’ I think it’s my perfect nude, it has overtaken MAC’s Hue as it adds a touch more colour. I really hope it comes back as a permanent part of the line up otherwise I’ll have to buy all three all over again.
Here are the swatches, top to bottom are Between the Sheets, Confession and Miss Kensington. You might think this is a rather expensive gift, which to an extent I do agree. However, if there is someone who has been good enough in your life, I think they deserve it. With this set you’re paying for the luxury Charlotte Tilbury as well as packaging, but it is worth it. Also, you could very easily split this into 3 gifts; pick up some clear baubles big enough to hold them, find some confetti, et voila a very stylish looking gift for your loved ones.
This is probably one of the best sets I’ve ever bought myself and I know it’s probably every beauty lovers’ dream to receive. Only one day of gifting to go! Don’t forget to enter my Magnitone giveaway – not long to go now!
