Wonderland Makeup: Beauty Gifts on a Budget?*

Halfway through the 12 Days of Gifting and today I bring you an offering from Wonderland Makeup*. They contacted me a month or so ago, offering me the chance to try out a few products. I thought they would fit perfectly into this series and here they are!

Wonderland Makeup

They sent me three different products to test out: the Studio Finish primer*, nail polish in Poppie* and lipstick in Ruby*. First off I think the packaging is a welcome change from the normal all black get up that most brands use, both budget and highend seem to favour this. The white is very clean, very blogger and very modern. (It was also quite nice to photograph as it added brighter element without me adding anything.)

The Studio Finish primer* texture reminds me of both Benefit’s POREfessional and the Smashbox Photo Finish primer. It’s not quite as thick as POREfessional, but it still give a similar finish – it fills in pores and leaves you with smooth skin to apply your foundation onto. I’ve used this a few times now and I’m impressed.

The nail polish in Poppie* is what I would class as the perfect Christmas red for the nails. A bright, pillar box red which will be on my nails as soon as I finish for Christmas holidays, which is in 10 days. (Not that I’m counting!) I quite like the consistency of this too, I often find nail polish difficult to apply; it either takes way too long to try or chips straight away.

Wonderland Makeup Ruby Lipstick

Last but by no means least is this lipstick in the shade Ruby*. It’s not a red like I expected it to be, instead a hot pink. The formula makes it quite sheer, but it’s surprisingly buildable. You can go for a wash of pink one day and a statement hot pink the next, which is one reason I really like the formula. The lipstick has an unusual scent, I was expecting it to be something fruity but instead it reminds me of baby power, (no I’m not too sure what I mean either.)

I am really impressed with what I have tried from Wonderland Makeup so far, the primer is a bargain, the nail polish Christmassy and lipstick gorgeous. I think they’d would make some really cute little stocking stuffers, they’re not too expensive (these products ranged from £6 – £15.)
