As the title would suggest: there is a time and a place for a tinted lip balm. Be that when you have sore lips but want to make a statement, or whether you’re just wanting a splash of colour – tinted lip balms in my opinion are a rather underrated beauty product. My current favourite is the Clinique Balm in Black Honey.
You might be aware that I’m a sucker for a freebie. I mean if you’ve read my blog ever, you’ve probably seen that I have put of purchasing something until a deal with minis arose. The reason this balm found its way into my possession was because before Christmas, Clinique offered 5 minis with a purchase of any amount (I bought the Pep-Start Cleanser.) I was intrigued by this balm more than any other product because of the shade. In the tube it looks like a terrifying deep brown, and if I didn’t know it was a balm I would have steered clear. However, I thought that as it would be a sheer, it might just suit my skin tone.
The first time I actually used this was because I couldn’t find any other lip balm and my lips were crying out for some moisture. As it is a Clinique product, it had no scent, which was almost disappointing in this case. A honey scented balm could have worked very nicely in my opinion. Instead the balm is scentless, which is good for sensitive skin at least. The texture is smooth, but slightly unlike other balms I’ve used. It’s almost firmer than most.
The shade it actually appears on my lips, is pretty similar to the swatch above. It works really nicely with my natural lip colour just adding a hint of a darker red. It also seems to last quite a long time, leaving a stain once the moisture has gone. I’d really recommend you try out a Clinique tinted balm.
If you noticed the lack of post on Valentine’s Day, I just want to apologise. I had no idea what Valentine’s related content to produce and I’m currently focusing quite hard on my uni work. Next to that also, is that I am desperately trying to afford a move to WordPress as I currently hate Blogger and have found the most beautiful Pipdig template I could ever imagine. I’m hoping to move in the next few weeks, so keep your fingers crossed!
