Welcome to my Visit Dubai series, yes, that’s right: we are visiting all aspects of my Dubai trip in a short but sweet feature. I thought I would start with the most exciting area, which was of course my Dubai Mall Haul. I think I managed to keep my purchases off of my Instagram stories – however head over to my Instagram now to enter a little Sephora giveaway which includes a Tarte palette! I also decided I would add in my Duty Free purchase, as one product doesn’t warrant its own post, but still deserves a mention.
If you’ve never been to Dubai Mall, you definitely need to go, just don’t be fooled into thinking that it’s somewhere just to pop into – oh no, it’s a day trip and that’s if you start early! As a UK resident, I have never had the opportunity to visit a Sephora so I made the most of my trip. I think we spent almost an hour browsing, most of it saw me trying to convince myself I didn’t need the whole store and a few years ago I would have left with everything. However, I somehow managed to restrain my purchasing just enough to still have spending money left over for other shops. I’ll admit, I did end up buying something quite readily available in the UK, but I was able to swatch it and it was that swatch that inevitably sold me. The other products were Sephora own brand, and I’m not paying customs to ship it all the way from the US!
I ended up picking up the Fenty Beauty Stunna lip paint in Uncensored – I’ve decided that for every holiday I go on abroad, I am going to buy a lipstick to remind me of that trip. Every time I wear Uncensored from now on, I will think of my first time in Dubai, and I think that’s better than a cheesy t-shirt I only wear once, don’t you? Perhaps one day I will do a whole post on my holiday related lipsticks, who knows where I’ll go! Anyway, Uncensored sold me with its beautiful formula and colour, I’ll admit I own a few red lipsticks; but this is different, (I promise!)
I’ve started to get into lip liners as well and saw the beautiful Sephora own brand lip liner in Wine-O. I can fully see myself using this on its own, as well as under my darker lipsticks, such as Nars Train Bleu. I was tempted to pick up a few more shades, but they weren’t as affordable as I’d hoped. To help my dry lips, I did also get another Shea lip mask – I’m not sure if they really work or if they’re gimmicky, but I’m willing to try them, just in case they help!
As I am going through a phase of loving everything skincare, I was very excited to see there was an Etude House (Korean makeup and skincare store.) Needless to say, I picked up quite a few, very affordable facemasks. Firstly I picked up two of their basic sheet masks – which were only around £2 each, major bargain. I chose the Hyaluronic Acid mask as my skin is super dry and their Strawberry one as I thought it would smell good as well as being brightening and revitalising. The next two had super cute packaging and interesting claims. The 3-Step Nose Clear says it will clear my pores and I very excited to see if it does. I also want to see if the Laugh Lines Care Patch helps with mine – I’m not saying I have wrinkles in the slightest, my smile lines are just quite prominent, especially when I’m wearing makeup. Hopefully this will plump up my skin to stop them being a problem.
My only Duty Free purchase, for myself that is, was a new foundation from Clinique. I picked up the Superbalanced foundation in Alabaster as part of the 2 for £29 deal, getting my mum their CC Cream while I was there. I feel it may be a tad dark, surprise, surprise, but I’ll mix it with the lighter foundations I own until I perhaps get a glow in the Summer. I couldn’t resist the deal as it made the foundation almost drugstore priced – which for Clinique is a complete bargain.
So those are my purchases, but what am I giving away you ask? I thought the Tartelette Tease palette was perfect for those jetting off in the next few months. It has six gorgeous neutral shades, perfect for any occasion. I then thought the packaging of the Sephora Lip Stories lipsticks, so I chose Buzz Me, a vibrant, bright pink. Then to give you the perfect holiday skin I have two facemasks: the Sephora Avocado facemask and Rose lip mask. If you’re interested in winning head over to my Instagram, all you have to do is like, follow and tag 2 friends in the image above!
