I am so lucky sometimes when it comes to blogging. I’ve been working with the lovely people over at Pixi since the end of the last year and every so often a parcel arrives with some goodies to try out. The most recent release were some new additions to the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lipsticks collection, instead of sending over just the new shades they sent the whole collection which was super generous of them. Obviously I don’t need duplicates and some of the shades wont suit me so I’ve given those away to friends and the other shades will be finding themselves in a giveaway soon!

Out of the 11 shades in the collection, there were 5 new ones. I chose to keep three of the new shades, and one of the old ones that I mistakenly gave away, I’ve added these to my two favourites from before. The shades I’m reviewing today are: Berry Boost, Real Red, Prettiest Pink and Evening Rose. I’ve noticed from the old formulation they’ve added a really nice scent, instead of the synthetic scent they had before.
Berry Boost did slightly underwhelm me which was a shame. In the tube it looks like a gorgeous deep berry, but it translates to a brighter berry pink shade. It wears really nicely and leaves a light stain, but it probably isn’t the berry you’re looking for this winter. Real Red is exactly what you expect, a beautiful blue toned red that packs a punch. It is perfect for the Christmas party season coming up!
Prettiest Pink is going to be perfect for Spring/Summer shade for me, I love colours that aren’t too bright but could still count as a statement lip, and this is exactly that. The final shade is Evening Rose, this is the one I gave away and then saw loads of people wearing it and regretted it! It’s a beautiful deeper nude shade, not one I actually own either. This is already my go to winter nude as it has that little influence of red to warm up any look.

You won’t often find me wearing liquid lipsticks as most formulas are way to dry for my lips, but these have changed that. They are so comfortable, even once they have dried down and last through eating and drinking. These are pretty much the only liquid lipsticks I can use for long periods of time, and I would certainly recommend Real Red and Evening Rose this winter!
You can buy the Pixi Mattelast Liquid Lipsticks from the Pixi website for £16 each.
