Pretending to be a Fashion Blogger

I am so not a fashion blogger that I actually had to create a fashion category to file this post under. So if that doesn’t show you what you’re in for, I don’t know what will. I’ve had this idea for a post for a while, but until now I hadn’t got round to it, firstly because I’m no fashion blogger, and secondly, me and Newaj (the best, most patient and understanding photographer ever) hadn’t scheduled a shoot in for a while due to busy, exam filled schedules.

I’ve always enjoyed the idea of fashion, though I’d say I watched from afar. I mean you can see from my fashion Pinterest boards I take an interest, although up until December my wardrobe wouldn’t really agree. Ever since I started my Project Pan I’ve pretty much been on a no buy when it comes to beauty products, and instead my head has been turned by clothing – I mean I’ve even signed up to ASOS Premier Delivery… I decided that this year I would be the year I dressed for me, how I wanted to dress and not wear jeans, a knitted jumper and converse. Though that is still an outfit I will refer back to when I’m running late.

When I say the year, I meant from after exams as I barely left my flat for the first few weeks as I was revising. Since then however, I have really been making an effort – my fashion Pinterest boards are bursting a the seams. I’ll admit it was quite difficult at first to remember to dress nicely; I’ve had to start laying my clothes out the night before, or I’ll revert back to jeans and a jumper again. Dressing nicely genuinely seems to be quite a effortful process but going out in a nice outfit is really helping my mood.

I’ll be honest, the recent spell of warm weather did throw me a little – I wasn’t expecting skirt weather (or the hay fever) for a couple more months at least. I think I handled it well though, I went for a jeans and blouse combo, tying it in with a thing trench coat and sunglasses. To be honest I loved the look, and I think I’m starting to get to grips with this whole fashion thing… even if I’m not committed every single day.

Hopefully you will be able to see me further dip my toe into the fashion world over on my Instagram, with the help of Newaj (who you really need to follow on IG, just saying…) There’s nothing that brings me more confidence than a shoot with him, I mean look at the photos in this post. Would you believe that I only started putting my face on my blog and Instagram frequently in Summer last year when I relaunched BethEmilyDann!? I only say this as the only content I want to create at the moment, across all platforms, seems to include me… Oh how times have changed!

I don’t ever think I will make it as a full blown fashion blogger, hence why I’m pretending. But I mean there’s nothing wrong with trying a little harder is there?
