We’re officially in lockdown in the UK, and while I’m trying to keep a schedule, I’m not going to be spending half an hour of my day doing my makeup to sit in my study. I’m not saying I won’t be doing my makeup for blog related purposes (and maybe my blossoming TikTok career – I’m joking of course!), but my day to day beauty routine will be a lot less complex. I thought I would show you what I’ve been using for a 5 minute beauty routine.
The IT Cosmetics CC cream has been a go to when at uni as you can use your fingers to apply, it takes 30 seconds and you’re good to go. As I don’t need the full coverage it offers while in isolation, I mix it in with my moisturiser, and give myself a healthy glow with minimal effort. I use my trusty Lasting Perfection Concealer to hide my under eye bags and colour correct my eyelids; having no set plans means a few 3am Netflix binges! You don’t need to use a brush for either of these either, my effort level most of the time is not very high and these compliment that perfectly.
I’ve recently found a love for the Benefit 3D Browtones, it deposits a subtle amount of colour while brushing out my unruly brows. I’m not going anywhere so my brows can be sparse, just as long as they’re visible I’ll be happy. I am never without lip balm normally, so why should that change now? Apart from the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm, few lip balms genuinely hydrate my lips; I’m looking at you Vaseline. Luckily, the Burts Bees range have been effective, and are a hell of a lot cheaper than Nuxe – I ordered a value set on Amazon so I could have a few scattered around the house. My final step is a spritz of perfume. This is a mini of the new All Saints Incense City that my best friend gave to me. It smells incredible and I feel little more put together. (It also looks really pretty bathed in sunlight.)
It’s not much, but a 5 minute beauty routine helps me start my day, even if I’m getting ready to stay indoors! Are you putting on makeup while in isolation, or are you opting for the more natural look?
